The Protection page is the second step in the Package Song and Upload Song processes, when the Apply Protection option is selected in the first step.
It offers the range of protection features which you can apply to the song you are packaging.
It also allows you to decide if you want others to be able to unprotect your packaged song, either with or without a password.
Controls
Lock Credits
Ensures that your song credits appear (and cannot be removed from) the song banner and report footers.
Lock Structure
Ensures that the structure of your song tracks and the links between them cannot be changed.
Prevent Editing
Ensures the content of your song segments and events cannot be changed. For playback and viewing flexibility, some setup and staff settings can always be changed, but you can prevent them from being resaved, with the option below.
Prevent Resave
Ensures that any changes made to the song cannot be saved either back to the original, or to a different file. If you want to apply this feature, you should probably also use Prevent Repackage (and possibly Prevent Export) for the same reason.
Prevent Repackage
Prevents a packaged song from being modified by a subsequent package or upload process.
Prevent Copy
Prevents any part of the protected song from being copied to the clipboard for use elsewhere.
Prevent Export
Prevents any part of the protected song from being exported to a Midi, Wave or Mp3 file.
Prevent Printing
Disables the printing of song reports, while leaving Print Preview still available.
Permit Unprotect
When ticked, allows the packaged song to be unprotected, using the Song Protection window.
Otherwise the packaged song can never be unprotected, for maximum security.
Password
If you have chosen to Permit Unprotect, you can enter here the password which is required to unprotect the song.
If you leave this field blank, the song can be unprotected without a password, and in this case it is not really secure at all.
