The Song Protection window can be opened from the workspace with Song-Protection, or by clicking on the padlock icon in the song banner.  It can also be displayed if an operation you are trying to perform is prohibited by protection.

This window displays the protection details of the current song, including the applied protection features, and whether the song can be unprotected with a password or not.

For unprotected songs, the Song-Protection command offers to start the Package Song process instead, so that protection can be applied.

Controls

Protection

Displays the protection features which have been applied to the song.  These are listed as bullet points, and indicate which operations are prohibited.  Each of these can be applied separately.

Password

The protection status of the song is displayed at the top of the window in bold text.

If the song can be unprotected with a password, the Password field is enabled.  Each character you type is disguised as a dot for extra security.

Unprotect

If the song can be unprotected, the Unprotect button is enabled.  It attempts to unprotect the song using the password you have entered.

Cancel

Closes the window and returns to the workspace without making any change to the protection of the song.
