Manuals

The Control Track is an essential part of every song, and so it cannot be removed with the Tracks page.

It defines the structure of the song itself, including the bars and time signatures.  It also stores and displays the following song controls, which affect all tracks:

Section markers, key signatures, and substyles, created with the Section Marker window.

• Volume changes, created with the Volume Change window.

• Tempo changes, created with the Tempo Change window.

Since the Control track implicitly provides the structure of a song, it is not often referred to separately in Songtrix, except for structural operations like the Paste Special window and the Export Midi process.

Work Sheets

The Control track appears at the top of the framework itself in work sheets, and displays all control events plus the bar numbers and beat markers.

The Control track cannot have the focus in work sheets, but control events can be edited for whichever bar has the focus.

If you hover the mouse pointer over the Control track area, you will get a down arrow which can select the whole bar.

Staff Sheets

The Control track appears above the top stave in staff sheets, and displays all control events except substyles.

The Control track cannot have the focus in staff sheets, but control events can be edited for whichever bar has the focus.

If you hover the mouse pointer over the Control track area, you will get a down arrow which can select the whole bar.
