Songtrix allows you to divide a song into sections, by defining marker labels at bars where there is a natural musical division.

You would typically use labels such as Intro, Verse 1, Chorus and so on, but they are free text and can be anything you like, up to 24 characters long.

Labels do not have to be unique, so you could have several Chorus sections in the same song.  However, navigation will be easier if you label them Chorus 1, Chorus 2 and so on.

Section marker labels are added or removed with the Section Marker window, which can also change other properties of the section, such as its substyle or key signature.

The label (main) is always present at bar 1 of a song, unless you explicitly place a section label there.  If there is a pickup section, then it will begin with the label (pickup), unless you define a replacement.

The song's marker labels (including these automatic ones) are used in situations such as the Go To Location, Select Range and Play Special windows, where they denote the span or starting bar of the section for convenient reference.

In the staff sheet or Staff Sheet report, you can choose to show double bar dividers between the sections.

Section marker labels can be exported to Midi files, and are preserved during the import of Midi files.

ChordWizard Styles are a special type of song which use marker labels to define the substyle divisions.
