Manuals

The Scale page appears in the Edit Scale property window.  This is opened in Mixer View by double-clicking a scale segment in the work sheet, or using the following command:

ButtonKeyMenu
Ctrl+ESegment-Edit

While the work sheet allows you to select a scale in a drop-down matrix, the Edit Scale window also allows you to specify a couple of extra options.

Exactly the same controls are available in Track View, using the scale matrix, scale bar and relations panel.

If there is a chord defined in the Chords track at this location in the song, the scales related to it are indicated with blue dots.

You can switch to the Relations page to see how the notes in the chord and your selected scale relate to each other.

Controls

Scale Matrix

The scale matrix is the main feature of the Scale page, and shows which scale is selected.  Some of the other controls on the page are inactive if there is no scale selection.

Set Root Name

If root note of the selected scale uses an accidental, you can specify exactly how it should be named.  Otherwise the default note name will be used.

Repeat

Converts the scale segment to a repeat segment or back to a standard segment.  As a repeat segment, it will simply reflect the scale in the previous segment, and most controls will be inactive.

Play Scale

Auditions the sound of the selected scale.
