The Scale Matrix appears in Track View when the Scales track has the focus.  It is accompanied by the relations panel and the scale bar.

It allows you to select the scale in the current segment.  If a Chords track is also included in the song, there may be blue dots indicating which scales are relations of the chord at the focus location.

The scale matrix has several methods you can use for navigation and selection.
