The Relations page appears in the Edit Scale property window.
It compares the notes in your selected scale with the chord inversion at the same location in the song.
Scale Degrees
The notes of the scale follow the pitch range of the chord inversion, to make comparison easier. They are arranged into columns by degrees, so that the same degrees an octave apart appear above each other.
Scale pitches are colored dark red if they are present in the chord inversion, otherwise gray.
Chord Pitches
The pitches in the chord inversion are colored dark blue if they are also degrees of the scale.
If a chord contains notes which do not also belong to the scale, then the chord and scale are mismatched, and these notes are colored light red as shown.
Mismatching
Mismatched chords and scales are not related to each other. This is generally undesirable, as it represents conflict between the harmonic and melodic structure of the music.
To help you avoid this situation, the work sheet also indicates wherever it occurs with a red-and-white dashed line between the Chords and Scales tracks.
