Segments can be joined into larger segments in Mixer View or Track View, using the following command:

	Ctrl+J	Segment-Join

This command acts on all segments in the selected range of the work sheet.  Segments are joined within tracks, but never across them.

Join Segments

For each track, all segments which are wholly or partially included in the range are joined together to make a single segment.

You can turn the whole track into a single segment by first selecting the whole track, using Edit-Select-Tracks, or hovering the mouse pointer over the start of the first bar in the track and clicking.

Segment Content

Sometimes there is a conflict between different segment types when they are joined together.  In these cases the following actions apply.

When harmony segments are joined, the first explicit chord or scale from the original segments becomes the value of the whole of the joined segment.

When event segments are joined, the events are merged into equivalent locations in the joined segment.

When a combination of event segments, repeat segments or autostyle segments are joined together, the virtual events are rendered into real events and merged into equivalent locations in the joined event segment.
