Autostyle Segments are specially marked event segments which do not contain events of their own, but events automatically generated from the track's selected style.
As well as a style selection, most tracks (except Drums) also require the presence of chords or scales defining the harmonic context to generate the autostyle events.
You can convert between standard and autostyle segments with the following command, which can apply to a single segment or a whole range.
| Button | Menu |
| Segment-Autostyle |
When you convert a standard segment to an autostyle segment, any events of its own are discarded.
Autostyle Marker
Autostyle segments are indicated with the autostyle marker, as shown below.
The gray shadows within the segments are virtual events. They are not real events which can be edited. Instead, they are automatically generated from the style, and will change instantly with a change of style, substyle, chord or scale.
Autostyle Events
Autostyle segments are indicated within segment sheets by an autostyle marker in the bottom left of the sheet.
The virtual events are shown in gray, but you cannot select them or view their properties.
When an autostyle segment is converted to a standard segment, the virtual autostyle events are rendered into real events which can be selected and edited in the usual way.
Manually creating a new event in an autostyle segment will convert it to an empty standard segment first, discarding all autostyle events.
