In Staff View, theStatus Bar contains a status pane on the left and three indicator panes on the right.

Status Pane

The default text in the status pane is the results of the most recent compilation of the song events into staff symbols.

When a range is selected (or being selected) in the staff sheet, it displays the size of the range, as shown.

During song playback, the status pane always displays Playback (with a progress loop count if Play Special was used).

Indicator Panes

The first two indicator panes show the bar and section of the focus cell in the work sheet.  During playback, they show the location of the playback marker instead.

Click on either of these two panes to open the Go To Location window, which lets you jump to a different location.

The third pane shows the resolution of the song as specified in the song setup (in ticks per quarter note).
