The Swingize page appears in the Swingize Track property window (invoked by Track-Swingize) together with the Selection page, which specifies the range of the song to be adjusted.
It also appears in the Adjust Events property window, invoked from segment sheets, when Swingize is selected in the Operation page.
There are two fundamental rhythm formations in music - straight or swing timing. Straight timing is based on equal divisions of the beat, while swing timing is based on two-to-one divisions of the beat.
By transforming the locations and durations of events across these two ratios, it is possible to convert music based on straight timing to swing timing and vice-versa.
The Swingize operation applies to events, and also to chords and scales in the song.
Controls
Apply Swing Timing
Converts events in straight timing to swing timing by transforming half/half beat divisions into two-thirds/one-third divisions.
If your music is in a simple time signature, you may wish to convert it to a compatible compound time signature after this operation, to make staff notation clearer.
Remove Swing Timing
Converts events in swing timing to straight timing by transforming two-thirds/one-third beat divisions into half/half divisions.
If your music is in a compound time signature, you should convert it to a compatible simple time signature beforehand, to allow this operation to work most effectively.
