The Tools Menu provides access to several popup harmony tools. You can call on these at any time, but they are most helpful for exploring the musical structure of the current song and getting new ideas for developing it.
The Tools menu is available in all views.
Some of the commands are also available as buttons on the tool bar.
Commands
Next Chord
Opens the Next Chord window, where you can explore and audition the possibilities for choosing the next chord in a progression.
Guitar Chord
Opens the Guitar Chord window, where you can enter a chordshape and translate it to a chord inversion, for optional input into the song.
Notes To Chords
Opens the Notes To Chords window, where you can identify the chord made by a set of notes, for optional input into the song. Any notes in the selected range are used as the initial set.
Notes To Scales
Opens the Notes To Scales window, where you can identify the scale made by a set of notes, for optional input into the song. Any notes in the selected range are used as the initial set.
Chords To Scales
Opens the Chords To Scales window, where you can identify the scale most compatible with a set of chords, for optional input into the song. Any chords in the selected range are used as the initial set.
Relations
Opens the Relations window, where you can explore the relationships between chords and scales. Any chords and scales in the selected range are used as the initial selection.
Chord Synonyms
Opens the Chord Synonyms window, where you can explore the active chords which are synonyms of each other.
Scale Synonyms
Opens the Scale Synonyms window, where you can explore the active scales which are modes of each other.
Metronome
Opens the standalone Metronome tool, where you can play a wide range of time signatures with pattern options for practise. This is separate from the song playback metronome.
