The Insert Bars window is opened from the workspace with the following command:
| Button | Key | Menu |
| Ctrl+Ins | Song-Insert Bars |
It allows you to add a batch of new bars to the song at any location. A song can be a maximum of 999 bars in length.
The bars of a song create its timing structure for the song, so you must select the time signature of the bars you are inserting.
Once a bar is inserted, it retains its time signature until it is deleted, or the meter of the whole song is converted.
Segments at the insert location are automatically extended or created, depending on the track type and the existing segment structure, to accommodate the new bars.
Controls

Songtrix can handle any number of time signature changes in a song, but all bars in a new batch must be the same.
