The Select Content page appears as the first step of the Export Song process.
| Songtrix Bronze Edition does not support exporting songs. For this feature, you will need to upgrade to the Silver or Gold Edition. |
Here you specify what portion of the song to export, and to which file type. There are also a few additional options.
The second step of the process offers type-specific options for the export operation. Depending on the file type, this will be one of:
Controls
Export To
Selects the type of file you want to create with the export operation.
MID File - creates a Midi file (or several Midi files) based on the events in the song. This format is suitable for transferring your song to other Midi software or hardware for playback or extension.
WAV File - creates an audio wave file by capturing the playback of your song. This format is suitable for burning to a CD.
MP3 File - creates a compressed audio file by capturing the playback of your song. This format is suitable for transferring to portable Mp3 players.
Span
Specifies the portion of the song to export. Any selected range in the workspace when the export process is started will be preselected as the Span to export, but you can select any of the following instead.
Entire Song - the whole song is to be exported.
Bar - only the specified span of bars is to be exported.
Marker - only the specified section of the song is to be exported.
Trim Span
If a subspan of the whole song is selected for export, this specifies whether the total export time is trimmed to that span only, or whether it appears in its original location in the song, with silence before and after it.
This can be useful when exporting only part of a track to DAW software, but when you need to keep it synchronised with other whole tracks that have already been exported.
If you select not to Trim Span, then the Loop Count setting below it is locked to a single value of one loop, as any other value does not make sense.
Loop Count
Specifies how many loops of the selected Span are to be exported. Exporting multiple loops is a handy technique for creating lengthy practise tracks from a short, or partial song.
Transpose
Specifies whether the export should be in the song's native key, or if it should be transposed by the selected interval to a different key. This can be useful with brass instruments, for example, whose actual pitch is often different to their notated pitch.
Count Off
Specifies whether a metronome count off is to be played at the start of the exported music, and if so for 1 Bar or 2 Bars. The default time signature of the song will be used.
Metronome
Specifies whether the metronome track should be exported. This is similar to using the song metronome during playback in the workspace.
Mute Tracks
Specifies whether the export file should Include or Exclude the tracks that are currently muted in the song. You can use Exclude as a mechanism for exporting a reduced set of tracks.
