how to specify the key of a tune

Hi there,

When creating a new song, is there a way to define what will be the key?

The same way, it seems to me that Songtrix has an harmony engine, that is at least used to adapt the Rythm track.
Is that engine able to dectect that a chord or a note played in a track is outside of the main or current key?

Best regards, Erix.

Absolutely.  Use Song-Setup-Controls to define the key signature of the song and Song-Section Marker to add changes.  This is for staff presentation only.

But I think you are asking about key centres that change with chords?  And you get these by adding the Scales track in Song Setup.

The scales are auto-selected but you can override to refine the harmony.  And the notes of these scales are then shown in the Bass, Riff and Melody track backgrounds, so you can see if any notes do not fit the scale.

We are currenetly working on more videos to show the many uses of the Scales track.
