is it possible to convert styles from others sequencers to songtrix compatibility, if yes how?
thank you
pierre
Hi Pierre,
Sorry about the delayed reply. You can import more or less directly from Yamaha STY file format.
Alternatively, it's relatively straightforward to make a style based on almost any midi file. We're producing a series of instruction videos on Songtrix now, and one of them will focus on techniques for making styles.
The videos should be available in a few weeks.
Is there any chance of the tutorial videos you mentioned above being made available soon.
Thanks, John.
Yes.
I'm afraid they have been much delayed, but we have finally locked in the demo videos for production in Feb 2011.
Please check back then.
I've just uploaded a Yamaha style Called WildWest which came with my PSR-E413,
It was easy to convert using Songtrix Import Midi command and selecting All files to see the wildwest.sty file.
- so yes it is easy, you don't need a video!!
I have a Korg PA50SD - any one else out there got one?
I am working on converting some their styles too as they are relatively easy to convert, first to midi via Korg's own software for style-to-midi. The thing about the Kord styles is that they have 8-tracks per style segment: five Accompaniment tracks plus two drum/percussion tracks as well as bass.... after finding which is the major track(s) containing the Rhythm those other acc. tracks all have to be stuck into the riff track on Songtrix.
- if anyone would like to try a midi copy of the one called Fire Rock - let me know, but I warn you they have 4 mains A+B+C+D, two intro, two fills, two endings and most of them have two sets of chords variations, some 4 beat some 8 beat
The Songtrix import midi process has a Auto Select for the tracks - I'd like to know what is the decision process for it to auto-exclude the tracks from a midi file.
