The Title Pages page appears in the Printing Options property window for all report types.
It provides options for you to print a banner or an automatic table of contents at the start of your reports, and to specify a custom title for it.
Controls
Banner
Specifies if you want a banner for the report. A banner is a box at the very start of the report, containing its title and other optional details, and can be either of two styles.
Header - a box at the top of the first page, just large enough to contain the details in it. This is more appropriate for a short report with a particular focus.
Full Page - takes up the whole of the first page of the report and vertically centers its text on the page. This is more appropriate for printing a complete book.
Show Selection
Specifies whether the report selection should be displayed in the banner. The selection determines what content appears in the report and is based on the current filter, or a custom choice from the Selection page.
Show Instrument
Specifies whether the current instrument should be displayed in the banner. This is disabled for Relations report, which are not based on any particular instrument.
Border
Specifies what sort of line borders should be placed the banner. It can be one of:
Light - Single light line (approx 1 pt)
Heavy - Single heavy line (approx 3 pt)
Double Light - Double light line
Heavy+Light - Light within heavy line
Light+Heavy - Heavy within light line
Table of Contents
Specifies if you want an automatically generated table of contents for the report. The table of contents provides a summary of the page numbers of the chord or scale groups within the report, and can be either of two styles:
Columns - presents the group headings and page numbers in a multi-column format.
Matrix - uses a matrix, similar to those appearing in Relations reports, where each cell contains the page number of the group.
Columns
This dropdown list appears only for a Columns table of contents. It specifies how many columns you want to use, within limits set by the size of the page and the group headings.
The first item, Auto, will generally choose an appropriate number of columns.
Lines Between
This option appears only for a Columns table of contents. It specifies whether vertical lines should be used to make a clear visual separation between the columns.
Leaders
This dropdown list appears only for a Columns table of contents. It specifies what type of leaders are to be drawn between the group heading and the page number for each item. It can be one of (none), Dot, Dash or Solid.
Rows/Page
This dropdown list appears only for a Matrix table of contents. It controls the row height of the matrix, expressed in rows per page.
Row Heading Left
This option appears only for a Matrix table of contents. It specifies whether the row headings of the matrix (ie. the chord or scale types) should appear on the left or right hand side.
Borders
This dropdown list appears only for a Matrix table of contents. It specifies the lines to be used for the outer and inner borders of the matrix, and can be one of:
(none) - No lines
Thin+None - Thin outer lines only
Thin - Thin outer and inner lines
Thick+Thin - Thick outer lines, thin inner lines
Thick - Thick outer and inner lines
Hide Page Footer
This option appears in the Banner area and in the Table of Contents area.
It prevents the display of the page footer for those pages occupied by the banner and table of contents, respectively.
Break After
This option appears in the Banner area and in the Table of Contents area.
It specifies if you want a page break (ie. start the next section on a new page) after the banner or the table of contents. There are three choices:
(none) - No page break, the next section will continue on. Not available for the Table of Contents, which requires a page break after it.
Next Page - The next section will continue at the top of the next page.
Odd Page - The next section will continue at the top of the next odd page. This is useful when binding books, to ensure that the table of contents, or the first group, begins on a right hand page.
Title
Displays the default title for the report. When the Custom option is ticked, it allows you to enter a custom title instead.
The default title for Chord Book reports is the filename of the library. The default title for Scale Chart reports is 'Fretboard Scale Charts'. The default title for Relations reports is 'Related Chords for Scales' or 'Related Scales for Chords'.
Reset
Resets all settings in the Title Pages page to the system defaults.
