(1) If I select a scale and then chords for that
I expect the tonic to be shown left and the
domminant and subdominant chords highlighted.
(2) If I select a scale, where actually are the
scale notes shown when I then want to create
the melody?
(3) how is reharmonization supposed to work?
(4) Only 7 chord types are shown in the chord selection
window. How can I add other types there, e.g. sus2?
Sorry, looks like we missed this one from a while back.

Not sure what you mean here.

The notes in the current scale can be shown in melody track by using Song-Setup-Links, then tick the Show Scales option (this should already be ticked by default). It shows different color background lines in the melody grid. We will review this before release to improve the color contrast.
> (3) how is reharmonization supposed to work?
When the Scale track is linked to melody tracks with the Reharmonize option ticked, any change to the scale will automatically update the notes in the melody to suit the new scale.
You can also use AutoSelect between the Chord and Scale track to have Songtrix pick a suitable scale for you for each time you change the chord.
Combining these allows you to change to harmony of the whole song automatically by changing the chords. This is kind of similar to the way styles work, except that it actually updates real song events in the open file. Can be very effective for completely reharmonizing an imported midi file to sound like a different song (by changing the chord sequence).

Sounds like you installed at beginner level. You can get all chord (and scale) types with:
Options-Workspace-Chord Types-Reset-For Playing Level
