i think that songtrix should come with a very large styles library , most popular and simple to do ,start with guitar strums or arpeggios, or a plug in to convert psr or biab styles
then songtrix would be ahead the others two ;because the note to chord and note to scale features are very intelligentcompare to the others were predominate the black box leading to stupid or unwise results
by the way in the melody track, once you choosethe scale, only note according to this scale are highlighed, what about taking account of the chord choosen??
excuse my poor english

I am thinking we can import band styles by using BIAB and Jammer for Windows and make our own SongTrix styles. We can share them. ChordWizard will want to limit discussion of any discussion or storage of styles "admitted" to being exported from BIAB because of threats of Copy right lawsuits. (Even being sued when you are not wrong is very expensive for you).
As to the melody, computer generated melodies are garbage in my opinion anyway. So the melody line is just a sample. This program is easy to input from a keyboard your own melody. And when snap to grid is set, then even if you have poor rhythm like I do, your rhythm will be fixed!
Pierre,
We do aim to have a much larger collection of styles available with the final release. The samples currently provided are the best we could quickly make in time for the beta release.
Scale guidelines are shown in melodic tracks to indicate the notes that belong to the scale at each point in the song. But the scale itself is guided by the chord at each point. Really, the chord is the main controlling track.
You are guided to choose a scale by the blue relations dots in the scale matrix which come from the chord, if you choose anything else, a dashed red-and-white line appears between the chord and scale tracks to show they are not compatible.
Soon, Songtrix will be able to update scales automatically from your chord (and update melodies automatically from a change of scale), but this is not implemented just yet.
Randy,
You are quite right, it is our hope that people will create their own styles and publish them (as well as original songs) in the Song/Style library on this website (not there yet, but on the way).
This will make a lot more songs and styles available, and give musicians a convenient and secure way to publish their work.
With this idea in mind, we have tried to make style creation as easy as possible. Songtrix uses styles "by example". A ChordWizard Style is simply a special type of ChordWizard Song, just with some special marker labels to indicate which sections are which.
You should get the idea if you examine the existing styles with File-Open Song, Files of type: ChordWizard Style.
The music in a style needs to have a chord track to tell Songtrix about its harmonic context. The notes in the style are then transformed to suit the chords in the destination song.
It's quite a lot of fun. Unfortunately, it's not yet documented, but we'll try to write an article on it as soon as we can.
