Hi Per, not sure I understand completely, can you describe the problem in more detail?

Are you driving the PSR3000 through the Midi output - or importing/exporting a midi file?

I use my yamaha keybord as soundcard in this case, as MIDI output from songtrix, that's when I want to select a sound to a track as foreksembel when I want a ukulele I get only a nylon guitar. Excuse my bad English but it is translated by google translator

Do you know the bank and patch number of the voice you are trying to select on the PSR3000?  This may be different from the voice number that the keyboard is showing.

Once you starting using voices outside of the General Midi range (bank 0) the voice names listed in Songtrix will probably not apply.  These are designed for the Roland GS patch set of the Microsoft Synthesizer that is supplied with Windows.

To choose a specific bank and patch in Songtrix, do this:

1. In Track Setup, from the Voice Bank control, select (custom bank) - at the bottom of the list

2. In Custom Bank, select the bank number

3. In Voice, select the voice number.

For a Yamaha keyboard, you will have better success if you change the selected voices that are shown for the different banks.  Songtrix comes supplied with Yamaha XG as an alternative.

1. Start Songtrix, go to Options-Workspace-Midi Setup

2. For your selected Midi Output port, press Detail

3. For both Define Voices and Define Drums, select Yamaha XG.

When you return to the track setup, the voice names will have changed and should be similar to those on your keyboard.

You can extend Songtrix with instrument definition files, we use the same format as Cakewalk, and many can be found at Jososoft.dk including the PSR3000.

Download and copy the .ins file into the Songtrix\Defines folder in your My Documents area, then startup Songtrix and change the Define Voices setting for the Midi Output device as before.

I installed the instrument definition file and it did not help. If I expoter as a midi file and play it with vanBasco karaoke player then it is the right instrument being played but not if I play from Songtrix. I'll try to put my ipad midi monitor on to see what happens, but it is not until after my vacation in 30 days.
