Using space as shortcut for Play / Pause

Hi there,
In many (most?) music tools, the space bar is used as a convenient shortcut for Play / (Start) and Pause (Stop) button in the transport bar. It is curently not the case in Songtrix. Would that be something you would consider.
The interest of the Space bar is that it is easy to access, especially when we have an instruments in our hands.
I'm new to the product, maybe there is a way to edit a shortcuts table, but I didn't see it...
Best regards, Eric Samson.
We have considered this request before as it has has been made by others, and we agree with the benefits you mention.
The trouble is that in some contexts the space bar is a valid key, particularly when editing lyrics in Track view.
Perhaps we should just override it as Play/Pause in that situtation but allow it in others? Seems inconsistent though.
It remains on our list for review. In the meantime, the following shortcuts keys work:
F5=Play
F6=Play Solo
F7=Play Bar
F8=Play Bar Solo
F9=Pause
F10=Stop
I think it is possible to detect we are not in an in put field, then in that case we can use then space bar as a toggle switch between play / pause.
This might be inconsistent internally, but is highly consistent wit hother software like Cubase, Guitar Pro, etc.
Yes, you are probably right. I will have it listed for review with the next update.
Thanks.
It is so nice to see a software vendor welcoming new idea and requests.
Thanks a lot.
best regards, Eric.
Hi Eric, this feature is now included in the newly released Songtrix v3.0s.
The spacebar now works as a shortcut for Play and Pause, in Mixer, Track and Staff View.
The only exception is when editing lyrics in Track View, when it is still needed for spaces.
I really do appreciate the space bar to start, stop and resume playback. I'd also very much appreciate the addition of a key or combination of keys for one hand operation allowing us to re-start playback from the beginning measure. That would really speed up the process for non-musicians like me.
I'm new to the software, so if there already is such a key (combination) someone please tell me.
Thanks,

The Ctrl+Home keystroke will take you back to the start of the song in all views.
If you are in Track View (or Staff View with a single stave) you can simply use Home (which goes to the start of line).
Similiary you can the following keystokes:
End = End of line
Ctrl+End = End of song
Page Up = Move to line up
Page Down = Move to line down
ALRIGHT ! ! !
Thank you for grouping all the above pointers together.
On my first trial I thought these keystrokes weren't working on my laptop. Then, I discovered that some of them would work ONLY if the number lock was turned OFF. ? ? ?
Then, after being hurriedly called away from my machine for several hours, and then returning (with the machine still turned on) I discovered that to make them work I had to press the STOP key before pressing any different combination of keys- rather than pressing another combination of keys while the song was still playing. Now, for some other strange reason they ALL work as described above, even with the number lock turned ON.
I can live with this quite nicely. Now I'm a happy camper with the start - stop - begin at the first measure etc. There are even some nice bonus keys which I find helpful, sush as, F6, F7 and F8 to play only the active measure and to play solo etc as many times as the key is pressed. That's great for auditioning for corrected events. KUDOS !
Thanks again,
