The Fretboard indicates with Overlay Labels the locations of notes or degrees in chords and scales.
In Relations View, it shows the notes of the most recent selection in the Chord Matrix or Scale Matrix.
With the Chord and Fretboard or Scale and Fretboard relation types, you can also place finger blocks on the fretboard to specify particular locations.
The Chord Matrix or Scale Matrix will then contain green dots to indicates the relations of these fretboard locations (ie. the chords or scales which contain the notes at the locations you have marked).
For a detailed discussion of the music theory behind relations, see Chord and Scale Relations in Tutorials View.
You can explore the sound of notes made at different fretboard locations by hovering the mouse pointer over the fretboard and pressing the right mouse button. The mouse pointer then changes to a finger pointer, and will play the note of each location it moves over.
The example above shows the fretboard horizontally, with the head to the left and the bass string towards the bottom. You can change to any orientation you like with the Orientation options.
