The Chord Types page appears in the Library Options property window. It also appears in various areas of Default Options, and optionally in the New Library process.
In addition to the controls shown below, there are extra buttons which are common to all property windows.
It allows you to manage the list of chord types which are used for matching, searching, filtering, relations and all other ChordWizard operations.
ChordWizard includes an extensive list of standard chord types, but you have a great deal of scope to modify this list as you see fit.
Beginners may wish to deactivate all but the basic chord types. This is done automatically for you with all libraries of Beginner playing level.
Advanced players may wish to add their own custom chord types. ChordWizard allows you to add an unlimited number of new custom chord types, and integrates them seamlessly into all operations.

Chord Types
The Chord Types list is the main feature in the Chord Types page. It has one row for each chord type that is currently defined within ChordWizard.
The list has two columns, for the Name of the chord types, and for the Degrees of the chord types.
The individual degrees of a chord type may be optional, in which case they are shown in brackets: eg. (1). Or they may be required, in which case they are shown in bold: eg. b3.
For a full discussion of the degrees of a chord type, see Degree Names in Tutorials View.
A required degree is one which must be present in a matching chord for a chordshape. Not all degrees have equal importance within a particular chord type. See Importance of Degrees for more details.
The required degrees of the standard chord types are carefully chosen to give optimum results. However, you can override these settings.
