The Default Options window is opened from the workspace, using the Options-Default command.
It allows you to decide what settings are used for new libraries, and what the settings are restored to when you press the Reset button in each area of the current library options.
Every ChordWizard library file contains, in addition to a collection of chordshapes, a set of Library Options that define the instrument, tuning, difficulty and other preferences to be used with the library.
To make it easier to manage the library options when working with more than one library, ChordWizard stores a set of default library options in the workspace.
Transferring Options Between Libraries
The Default Options box contains four buttons, which open the different areas of the default library options. Within each of these areas, you also have a Reset button.
Pressing the Reset button within Default Options gives you a choice of two methods - either you can reset to the Standard System Settings, which are hard-wired into ChordWizard, or you can extract the Settings in Current Library.
This gives you a way to transfer a set (or partial set) of Library Options from one library to another, via the workspace.
First switch to the source library, open Default Options and reset the areas you want to transfer to the settings in the current library.
Then switch to the destination library, open Library Options and use the Reset buttons there to update these areas with your stored default options.
Controls
Default Options
This button opens a special Library Options window containing only the Instrument and Practice areas. These areas do not contain any playing level dependant settings, and so are used for libraries of all playing levels.
Beginner Libraries
Intermediate Libraries
Advanced Libraries
These buttons open a special Library Options window containing only the Chord Types, Scale Types, Indexing and Searching areas.
Because the settings in these areas are dependant on playing level, there are three separate sets, one for each playing level.
| Intermediate and Advanced playing levels require ChordWizard Gold Edition. The Silver Edition operates only at Beginner level. |
Close
Closes the Default Options window.
