That's a long pickup!  There's not really a clean way to add more than 2, but depending on the time signature, you could try making the bars longer.

For example if you need three bars of 4/4, you can make the pickup two bars of 6/4 instead.  It's not strictly correct of course, but it will give you a time interval of the same size.

Thanks, it'st kind of a funky song (Ballad of Curtis Lowe, Lynyrd Skynyrd). The real problem was one bar of music was longer, so I figured out to add another bar that was 2/4 for the extra "part". Like you said, maybe not technically correct but it works!
