How to update my song with an improved revision

I want to be able to update any of my songs at any time with an improved revision, keeping the previous files and dates available to document the history of the publication. May I use the "Upload Files" section in the "Edit Publication" window for this purpose? If so, how am I supposed to use it, as I didn't find out? Is there any other possibility apart from withdrawing a song and doing a new upload, which would clear the history?

Hi Andres,
The Upload/Download mechanism anticipates that publications will be need to be replaced with new versions over time.
Yes, from the edit area, you can replace the published song with a newer version.
Only the latest version will be displayed to the public, but you will be able to see all the whole series of versions that were published.

Thanks for the reply. However, from the edit area it is not very clear how to do it. But I managed to find out finally:
Updating a song with an improved revision has to be made in different steps:
1. upload the new version
2. go to the publications area and edit the publication that contains the old version of the song
3. select the new version in the "Replace With" box
4. click the "Update" button at the bottom of the window
The primary difficulty for me was the fact that I cannot update directly from the publications area. Instead, I have to switch between publications and upload areas!

That's correct, upload and publish are two separate functions. This is because uploaded songs can have a different destination from publications.
For example, they can be sent privately to another member when attached to a message. And we are planning in future for forum topics and comments to also be able to carry attachments.
