Would be wonderfull if Songstrix team would "cater" to users of windows boxes by accomodating setup of the built-in Roland sound canvas soft synth
I know the 'purpose' of Songstrix is to teach music ... but
I would like to see:
a) Songstrix not "fall back" to General MIDI ... there are a zillion users of Windows machines out there ...what a market !
b) Allow 8 tracks
c) Allow edition of controller messages
FYI
Hi Donald,
a) You can access the additional Roland patches with the following:
Options-Workspace-Midi Setup
Select Microsoft GS Wavetable Synth
Press Details
For Define Voices, select Roland GS
For Define Drums, select Roland GS Drums
But be aware that if you are publishing, then your audience may still be using General Midi.
b) We have plans for a larger number of tracks in the future.
c) There should not be much need to directly edit controllers. We have created our own events that are much easier to work with (for example, the Bend Note is much easier to edit than masses of pitch bend controllers).
Depending on demand we may look at adding custom sysex events for setting up particular devices. Is this the type of thing you mean?
