The Join Network window opens from Network View, when you press the Join Network button.  This is available only when a Login Email is not yet specified in the Network Options.

The Join Network window assists you with joining the ChordWizard Network, which is a very simple process.  You could also join with a standard browser at the ChordWizard Network website instead.

To join, you need to enter only your desired Member Name and Login Email, then your password will be sent to you.

Your privacy is respected.  None of the information you supply will be used inappropriately, or provided to any other party without your permission.

The Member Name you submit is used to identify you on the ChordWizard Network, but your Login Email is kept private and is used only for administrating your account.

In fact, you do not need to reveal your email address publicly on the ChordWizard Network at all, since an integrated messaging system is available for private communication with other members.

Your published songs can link back to your member account, without you needing to reveal your email address.  This protects it from being gathered by spam merchants who specifically mine websites for email addresses.

Controls

New Member

Enter the name you want to use for your account.  This will be the main label used to identify you to other ChordWizard Network members.

It is recommended that you use your real name, or something close to it, particularly as you may be publishing songs under this name in future.  However, an alias is still acceptable.

All member names on the ChordWizard Network must be unique to prevent ambiguity, so you may find that the name you want to use is already taken.  In this case, you may find an alternative form that is available.

For example, if David Smith is taken, you could try the following instead:

• Dave Smith

• David.Smith

• David Smith II

• Dave S

• David A. Smith

Login Email

Enter your email address, which you will need to login with.  This must be your real email address, since your password, and any subsequent communication from the ChordWizard Network will be sent to this address.

The ChordWizard Network can be configured to notify you (or not) when:

• major events, such as new product releases, have occurred

• another member has sent you a message

• a comment has been posted in a forum discussion you are interested in

Confirm

Enter the same email address as above to minimize the chance that a typing mistake may prevent or delay the processing of your membership.

Join Now

Attempts to contact the ChordWizard Network website and create your new membership.  You need to have an internet connection currently available to achieve this.

If there is a communications or administrative problem, you will be notified of the details and given a chance to resolve the issue.

If there are no problems, your account will be created and your Login Email will be automatically entered in the Network Options ready for your first login.

You will need to retrieve and enter your new password, which is sent to your email address within seconds of a successful account creation.  Once you have logged in for the first time, you can change your password to something easier to remember.

Cancel

Closes the window and returns to Network View without attempting to join.
