The Midi Input Details window opens when you press the Input Details button on the Midi Setup page. 

It shows the properties of the selected Midi Input device, and offers several options for using it.

Each Midi Input device has its own set of options.  When you change the device selection, Songtrix uses the options of the new device instead.

Controls

Midi Input

Displays the title of the device.  This is the same title that appears in the Midi Input list on the Midi Setup page.

Properties

Displays the device properties that are being reported by the device driver, supplied by the manufacturer.  Depending on the device, these may or may not contain meaningful values.

Latency In

Many Midi Input devices (particularly guitar interfaces) have a degree of Latency, which is a delay between when the instrument plays a note, and the moment when the device delivers the input message to Songtrix.

The Latency In setting is used during recording for adjusting the positions of recorded events to take this delay into account.

From Channel
To Channel

These settings control the lowest and highest Midi channels that events will be received on.  Events arriving on a channel lower than the From Channel or higher than the To Channel will be ignored for Midi Thru and for recording.

They are useful if you have more than one Midi input stream coming in through the same device, so you can filter out those you don't want to use.

These settings do not appear if the device you are configuring is the Qwerty Keyboard.

Reset

Resets all options to their default settings.

OK

Accepts all settings and closes the window.

Cancel

Closes the window without making any changes to the original settings.
