Hey everyone,
I am original from Germany, where I learned guitar, keyboards and percussion.
I played in a number of band with a wide variety of styles. For about two years, I was rythm guitare for Herbert Groenemeier. I do not know, if anyone has heard of him, but that was my greatest learning curve. After that, I had to join the Army, which brought me to Canada. I now live in Canada since 1990,
and am a member of a Celtic band, called "The Residuals". Since I have been playing with this band, finding our own sound always was the main objective. One of the best ways to do so was, to find a different combination of instuments. All 5 of us are multi-instrumentalists as well as vocalists.
Another advantage is, that two members have their masters degree in music, and really challenge us with messed up chords ( love it!). Recently, I have been very focused on playing DADGAD tuning.
It has changed many of our tunes in color and characteristic - no doubt about that.
I am looking forward to getting in touch with some of you, so I can share my experiences as well as learn, learn, learn.
Cheers,
Rick
