Manuals

The Movable Series window appears in three situations:

• When adding a movable chordshape to the library.

• When deleting a movable chordshape from the library.

• When adding a movable chordshape or multiple selection of chordshapes from the search results list in the Search List window.

It allows you to decide whether a movable chordshape is added to (or deleted from) the library for all shifted positions at the same time.

For example, the chordshape 355433 is a movable chordshape because the whole chordshape can be shifted up the fretboard to make 466544, 577655, and so on.  Likewise it can be shifted down the fretboard to make 244322, 133211 and 022100.

This last chordshape is known as the open position of the movable series because is contains open strings, and for this reason is not itself a movable chordshape.

Controls

Movable Chordshapes

This option group controls how movable chordshapes are treated.  In all cases, shifted chordshape positions which are already stored in the library (for add operations) or which are not in the library (for delete operations) will not appear in the movable series.

Add/Delete Original Chordshape Only - Specifies that only the original chordshape you decided to add or delete will be acted on.

Add/Delete Whole Series Except Open Position - Specifies that the original chordshape plus the series of all available shifted positions will be acted on.  The open position will not be included in the series.  This is useful if you only want to add movable chordshapes to the library, or if you want to delete a movable chordshape series from the library, but keep the open version of it because it is easier to play.

Add/Delete Whole Series Including Open Position - Specifies that the original chordshape plus the series of all available shifted positions, including the open position, will be acted on.

Chordshape List

This shows all the chordshapes which will be added to (or deleted from) the library, if you proceed with the operation by pressing the OK button.

The contents of this list will vary depending on which option you select from Movable Chordshapes above.

If you are adding a multiple selection of chordshapes from the Search List window, which includes movable chordshapes, each series of shifted chordshapes will be separated into groups with divider lines.

A line of text underneath the list indicates how many chordshapes it contains.

Play Chordshape

Plays the selected chordshape in the list.

OK

Proceeds to add or delete all of the chordshapes appearing in the list, and closes the Movable Series window.

Cancel

Closes the Movable Series window and cancels the add or delete operation.
