The Edit Scale Type window opens when you press the Edit button in the Scale Types page.
It allows you to modify the properties of the standard or custom scale types in the list that ChordWizard makes available throughout the workspace.
All scale types must have a unique combination of degrees, and a unique name not already used by another scale type in the list.
Controls
Name
Displays and allows you to modify the name of the scale type.
Play Scale Type
Auditions the sound of the scale type as currently defined.
Degree Names
Some of the possible degrees of a scale type can have alternate names. The buttons above the grid allow you to modify the degree names used in the scale type.
The alternatives are #1/b2, #2/b3, 3/b4, #4/b5, #5/b6, 6/bb7 and #6/b7.
Include Degrees
For custom scale types, a button appears under every possible degree, and you can add or remove degrees with the same freedom as in the New Scale Type window.
For standard scale types, these buttons are not available.
OK
Attempts to modify the scale type. If successful, closes the window, otherwise shows a message explaining the problem.
Cancel
Closes the window without modifying the scale type.
