Started banjo thirty years ago. Tone deaf, but finally found a music teacher who whould stick with me fifteen years ago. Have since learned to play and hear pitch well enough to jam with a few other musicians(thanks to the magic of an electronic tuner and being able to keep a banjo in tune) Consider mayself to be a pretty good banjo technician. I make no claim to be a musician, but I am living proof at 73 that tone deafness is not NOT BIOLOGICAL, and that old dogs can learn. I have been dependant on ChordWizard for the last few years if I need to play outside the basic old time music chords.
I'm glad I never traded in my instrument for golf clubs like several music teachers told me to in the past.
