Hello,
I am a 70 year old and have had guitars for over 40 years but have not had the time to play anywhere as near as much as I would have liked; work, family commitments, the effects of DIY on my nails and hands, and my many other interests have left me with insufficient time to attain the guitar skills I would like.
Being an IT software trainer for many years and what that means for keeping up to date with IT changes had perhaps the greatest effect on my time. Sob !
Even now, DIY and gardening is still around me. Sob, again !
The time I have had has been spent studying much music theory, and practicing fingerpicking,
Though I have been a good singer in the past, I spent little time practicing chords, and preferred fingerpicking - classical material.
I have recently grown a fondness for flamenco, and need to know more about chords, also to help me with classical playing, and I would like to try and resurrect purposeful singing with guitar accompaniment, so have enrolled on a course to help me. I can quickly 'bash-out' melodies on piano, but my left hand just doesn't want to take part.
Thanks for your attention.
Morris.
